These photographs exist as a response to struggles with identity and comfort in relation to the state of being with oneself. Being alone is something many people struggle with, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. With increased time with myself, I had to do a lot of introspection, and I was set in a sort of push and pull when it came to my relationship with myself. After moving to Texas from Ohio, I was in a constant back and forth with how I felt with the amount of changes that were happening all at once. This work expresses my continuous strive to find comfort in discomfort, along with documenting my emotional journey in relation to the analysis of the self.
